I picked up my first camera at age 14. It was my grandfather’s hand-me-down - a Russian Zenit.
At first taking pictures was just a hobby, an exploration that I nurtured some days and neglected on others, depending on my whim. Over time, taking photos became a daily practice - a way for me to document moments, people, shadows and all that is in between.
I like taking pictures of ordinary things - both living and material. Documenting all sides of life - with its infinite beauty and brightness, as well as the hollowness that is equally important and meaningful to me. Bad and good, old and new, young and old, light and dark, black and white.
Since 2002 I have been residing in New York City.
